GLORY DAYS is a rare and very beautiful down east cruising boat. Mainship made only eight of them before they went out of business. I have owned a 2004 Mainship 40 Trawler, a 2005 Mainship 430 Performance Trawler, and this Pilot is by far the nicest and most upscale model. She was commissioned at the Mainship plant in St Augustine in 2008 and shortly after was repossessed by Mainship where she sat at the factory until 2011, when she was purchased and moved to Canada where she lived until I purchased her in the late fall of 2019. I brought her to Cape Cod in August of 2020 (after covid opened the Erie Canal) and immediately installed a fresh water engine flushing system in her engines to eliminate the effects of salt water. At 1400 rpm’s she will cruise at about 8 knots and will average around 4gph. Her top end is 22 knots at 3400 rpm, but will cruise comfortably at 15k to 18k.
